 The train moves with uniform velocity. Velocity-Time graph is just parallel to x-axis. And the displacement increases with time as shown in the next graph. The rate of change of displacement is constant and so displacement-time graph is linear which is an indication of uniform velocity.

When velocity increases with time , we say the body accelerates. Here the velocity of train increases with  the time . The rate of change of velocity with time is called acceleration. If the rate of change of velocity with time is constant , it is the uniform acceleration. In the velocity-time graph, it is seen that velocity increases with time linearly. The slope of the line gives the magnitude of acceleration. When a train starts from station, it increases its velocity by acceleration till it reaches its  maximum allowable velocity with which it further moves  as uniform velocity.

 

Retardation

  Retardation is just opposite to that of acceleration. Here the velocity of the body decreases with time. This happens when a train approaches a station where it is supposed to stop and so it applies break in order to decrease its velocity to zero. The velocity-time graph shows how velocity drops down with time.
